Is it time?

The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites.  Deuteronomy 1: 6, NLT

When I was pregnant with my first child, I remember the anxiety I felt when I visited my doctor for my weekly check-up, and he told me it was time to deliver. I replied that it couldn’t be time for my delivery because I still had a lot of things to put in place. But in spite of my concerns, my doctor told me to go home, pack a bag and check into the hospital.

In the same way aspiring writer, are you receiving any signs that indicate it’s time for you to begin writing for publication? Even if you’re not as prepared as you’d like to be, are you getting signs that it’s still time to deliver?

Like preparing for the birth of a baby, you’ll never feel completely ready to write for publication. But if the time has come for you to get started, then believe that  you have everything you need to begin.

So if the time has come for you to begin writing for publication, there’s only one thing left to do -push!

Sharing the journey,

Jeaninne

Writer’s prayer: Father, in spite of my concerns, if it is time for me to begin writing for publication, help me to overcome my fears and begin.

Writer to Writer: What signs are you receiving that indicate it’s time for you to begin writing for publication?  Post your comments on my blog. I enjoy hearing from you.

What are the signs that indicate that I am ready to write for publication? You mentioned signs in the Is It Time article.

Hi Peggy. This is a great question so thanks for asking!

Some of the signs that indicate you are ready to publish are:

      * Do you feel you have learned the craft of writing well enough that you are confident in submitting a particular writing you want to publish?
      * Do you feel you’ve written something you want to publish to the best of your ability?
      * Have you had an editor review your writings and have told you they are ready to publish?
      * Have you found a good market where you can begin submitting your writings?

If you can say yes to the above questions, then you are ready to submit your writings for publication.

Let me know if this answers your questions.

      Keep writing for Him,
      Jeaninne Stokes
