What are you willing to leave behind?

Then the Lord told Abram, “Leave your country, your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you. Genesis 12:1, NLT.

God told Abraham he would make him the father of a great nation. But before it could happen, he had to leave his home, his homeland and his relatives and travel to a new land.

Is God calling you to write for Christian publication? Is he asking you to leave something behind to write professionally? A high-paying job? Climbing the career ladder? Less time in front of the TV or computer?

The call to write for Christian publication will require a sacrifice on your part. But if you’re willing to leave something behind to answer your call, God has a future blessing in store for you in the land of publication, just like he had for Abraham.

Sharing the journey,

Jeaninne

Responding to God’s call to write his answer:

Name one thing God is asking you to leave behind so you can write for Christian publication? Are you having trouble letting it go?  Post your comments on my blog. I enjoy hearing from you.

Aspiring  Writer’s prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to leave behind anything that hinders me from writing for you. Amen.

I enjoyed today’s devotional Jeaninne. The question that you posed to us is one that I struggle with almost daily. Keep encouraging writers to do just that – write! Keep holding others to a high standard of accountability and offering fresh hope in all that you share with your readers. It is a blessing to have a teacher like JStokes Ministries in my life. May God bless you and continue to take you higher.
