Are you doing the one thing?

But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are so upset over all these details! There is really only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it-and I won’t take it away from her. “ Luke 10:41-42

Mary and Martha welcomed Jesus into their home. But while Martha worried over the big dinner she was preparing for Jesus, Mary sat at his feet listening to his teachings. When Martha asked Jesus if it was fair for her sister to sit while she did all the work, Jesus replied that Mary was focused on the one detail that was most important to do at the time.

Your life is probably also filled with many details as an aspiring writer. But if it is your desire to write for Christian publication, there is one thing that has to be more important than any other detail in your life – spending quality time with the Lord. As you fulfill all of your other life obligations, don’t forget this one thing.
