Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8, NLT.
When I converted from working full-time to a part-time job to prepare to write for ministry and publication , I did not get paid what I was worth. But each day I reminded myself it was worth it when compared to not having the time to prepare.
The apostle Paul gave up everything – his credentials, his successes and his freedom – in order to know Christ. He felt those items were not important anymore when compared to developing his relationship with Christ and his ministry as a preacher to the Gentiles.
If God has called you to write for Christian publication, what are you willing to give up to answer your calling? A demanding career? Television or social media time? Personal pleasures? Whatever you give up, I hope you’ll consider it worthless when compared to the gain of knowing you are preparing to write for the Lord.
