Are you ready to jump?

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7, KJV

Comedienne, actor, author, and talk show host Steve Harvey tells the story, during his life class, of his first experience as a stand-up comedienne.  After he finished his performance and realized comedy was his calling, he went to his job the next day, packed up his belongings and quit.

The life lesson Steve learned is that sometimes you have to be willing to jump. Like a skydiver who jumps out of an airplane, Steve knew he had to take a jump of faith to pursue a career as a comedian.

Has something happened recently in your life to confirm that God is calling you to write for ministry? Are you ready to take a jump of faith into the new career he has for you? You may be fearful at first about jumping, and you may even have to “free fall”  for a little while before your writing career takes off. But once your writing ministry begins to soar, you’ll be so glad you jumped out of the plane.

Sharing the journey,

Jeaninne

Writer’s prayer: Father, please give me the courage to jump out of the plane as a writer. Amen.
