Taking baby steps

Baby steps taken consistently and in the right direction will lead you to your destination.                                                                                         Valerie Burton

It’s such a fun time in a baby’s development when they learn to walk. But since the art of walking can seem daunting at times, a baby may decide to keep crawling. But as his mother encourages him  each day to take a baby step toward his goal, a baby gains the confidence to walk.

Similarly, the goal of writing for publication for the Christian marketplace can seem a daunting task to achieve as an aspiring Christian writer. And you may give up on your dream of publication because of the challenges you’ll encounter along the way. But instead of looking at the long-term goal, focus instead on taking a baby step toward your destination. For example, take a baby step to write a certain amount of time every day, or write a page a day, or to write a query letter to a targeted publisher. You may start off a little shaky at first, but after taking your first step, you’ll gain the confidence needed to take the next step and the next toward your writing destination.

Sharing the journey,

Jeaninne

Writer’s prayer:  Lord,  please help me to overcome my fears and take a baby step towards  my goal of writing for publication for the Christian marketplace. Amen
