The Law of the Harvest

Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessings at the appropriate time. Galatians 5:7 NLT

It’s graduation season. I love attending graduations and participating in the pomp and circumstance of the event, because it’s a reminder that all of the early morning wake up calls to attend classes and late night study hours have finally paid off for each graduate.

Yet I am sure there were days these graduates didn’t think they would make it to graduation.  Days when they wanted to give up on their dream of getting their college degree. But because they continued planting the seeds of attending classes, studying diligently and saying no to the distractions college life offered, they now stand ready to receive the harvest from their labor.

Aspiring writer, like these graduates, there will be days when you’ll wonder if the investment you are making to write for publication for the Christian marketplace is really worth it.  The daily discipline required to write, the minimal support you may receive, and the rejection of your work you may encounter, will make you question if the investment of writing is worth your energy and time.  But just as the college graduate continued to plant seeds into his education which finally paid off with a degree, you also must keep planting seeds into your dream to write for publication. And at the appropriate time, you’ll reap a harvest of  writing blessings.

Sharing the journey,

Jeaninne

Aspiring writer’s prayer:  Father, thank you that I can always trust the law of the harvest as I plant seeds into my dream to write for publication.
